Pro-Tec started in 1974 as a television repair business . This changed into a trade repair service due to the high technical standards of Protec. As Protec was now doing specialised repair work for other repair businesses it started getting request's to supply parts. Thus the parts side was started around 1980 and after a few years this became the core part of the business and the repair side specialised in tuner and module repairs, no longer working on complete televisions.
We supply parts and accessories for Television , Dvd , Hifi , Microwave etc etc and also have access to many OEM parts, that is we distribute many original brand parts directly from their warehouses. We are also the Kwazulu Natal agent for Screenvision.
Protec dispatches parts at no charge ( though there is a minimum invoice amount) by its own delivery vehicle in Durban and to Richards Bay in northern Kwazulu and Port Shepstone in Southern Kwazulu and inland to Pietermaritzburg ( and all places inbetween these areas). We stock over 20000 parts and have a modern computer system to control this stock. Protec also has a computer link to Screenvision stock system , so if we do not stock or have stock of an item we can source it from Screenvision and give you an eta on the expected delivery time. This system allows operators to have their own email address so that those who wish to communicate by email can deal directly with the person concerned. We now barcode label our stock , which leads to less errors and also easier identification of stock items (no more having to try and read miniscule printing on small components). Please note this system displays the individual items price even if the items are packed in bulk. The prices on the labels may vary from the invoice price for various reasons ie when new stock arrives the system averages out the selling price by adding the new stock to the old . As you have seen by visiting this site we are now enabling you to check stock and prices online , to order or enquire as to availablilty. This saves you costly phone calls and enables you to complete quotes outside of normal business hours.
